TOPIC #1: Decumulation Diversification: Hedging against potential health care costs
SPEAKER: Schyler Adams
About the presentation: A look at how registered index-linked annuities (RILAs) with an income rider that can help fund future medical costs in a modernized asset and cost-efficient strategy. This presentation will focus on clients who currently have a high probability of success. By utilizing a RILA within a comprehensive financial plan, we will show how this structured annuity can help manage the downside risk of our client’s overall portfolio, increase drawdown efficiency, and add a level of protection from uncertain future medical costs in a tax-effective manner.
About the speaker: Schyler Adams is a Director, Advanced Strategies and Planning Platforms at Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America. With a decade of financial services industry experience, Schyler has a wide range of experience with product knowledge, financial planning and financial technology. He helped launch financial technology at Allianz Life by beta testing eMoney and MoneyGuidePro, presenting to wholesalers and advisors and modeling products in software. Schlyer previously served as the director of sales of Questar Capital & Asset Management. He earned is B.A. in financial economics from Gustavus Adolphus college and is Certified Financial Planner.
TOPIC #2: Equity Market Outlook: Dominance & Divergence
SPEAKER: Chris Bush, CFA
About the presentation: Chris will discuss impacts from the dominance of a few names on the market index as well as discuss opportunity beyond the narrow market. While First Trust believes the market will widen in ’25, there is still likely to be wide divergence within many asset classes. In his view, there are superior ways to invest than blindly buying an equal-weight or small-cap index
About the speaker: Chris is Vice President of Strategy Research and Portfolio Manager for the Active Factor Suite of ETFs and the Small Cap Core SMA. He has over 18 years of financial services industry experience. Chris is responsible for developing and implementing quantitative equity investment strategies and has been a member of the First Trust Advisors Sub-Equity Investment Committee since 2018. Chris received his BS in Business Administration from John Brown University and a Masters in Data Science from Northwestern University. He is a recipient of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago as well as the Chicago Quantitative Alliance.
Continuing Education: FPA NEO will request credit for these programs, which will total two hours of CE from the CFP® Board of Standards for CFP® designation holders. A general certificate of completion and one for CPA designees who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements will also be available.

In person meeting cost is free for FPA members and $65 for non-members.
