TOPIC #1: Seeing How We Think: Insights for Building Strong Connections

SPEAKER: Kate Livingston

About the Program
Our brains are wired in ways that lead us to particular preferences and interpretations of the world. Understanding your thinking preferences, as well as the thinking preferences of others, can have profound implications on personal effectiveness in the areas of client interaction, team dynamics and presentations. Using the Neethling Brain Instrument (NBI), a neuroscience-based measure of thinking preferences, Kate introduces a framework for understanding your mental processes and how those influence your relationship development. Prior to the session*, you will take a brief online assessment that generates an analysis of your particular thinking patterns. Kate will then review these findings during her presentation.

About the Speaker
As an organizational development consultant and executive coach Kate’s Livingston’s focus is on helping teams and clients build effective working relationships to improve performance. Using research from adult development, Kate adopts an interactive approach to stimulate collaboration, active listening and meaningful conversations. Kate holds a master’s degree in adult development and psychology from Harvard University, and a Master’s in art history from Pennsylvania State University. She draws from both of these fields when helping clients see how they frame and address their challenges.

*You must complete the online assessment by COB Friday, March 15 to receive your results in person at the meeting. If you complete after that date you will be emailed your results after March 21.

TOPIC #2: From Portfolios to People: The Evolution of Vanguard Advisor’s Alpha®

SPEAKER: Ryan Donohue

About the Program
Join us as we introduce the latest research in the advisor’s alpha series aimed at helping you and your practice thrive in this ever-changing industry. More than 15 years ago, we created the advisor’s alpha concept to help advisors redefine and articulate their value proposition from one solely based on investment performance to one focused more on relationships and holistic wealth management. This evolution in our research addresses ways to adapt and evolve in the face of new regulation, changing investor preferences, emerging technology, and the impact trust has on your client relationships.
