TOPIC #1: Update on Ohio’s 529 – CollegeAdvantage
SPEAKER: Judith K. Cunningham

About the presentation: Learn how Ohio’s 529, CollegeAdvantage is helping make higher education more affordable for families.  Learn how the program works, how it’s used and the latest program enhancements.

About the Speaker: As the PR/Community Outreach Manager, Judy is responsible for the management of all public relations and media relations associated with OTTA and Ohio’s 529, CollegeAdvantage. She’s responsible for various community outreach initiatives to help educate Ohioans regarding planning and saving for higher education.  Judy is responsible for community outreach and brand awareness with various communities and other stakeholder groups around the state. Judy is the first and only Public Relations/Community Outreach Manager for the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority (OTTA) and Ohio’s 529, CollegeAdvantage. A native of Columbus, OH and a graduate of St. Francis DeSales High School. The older of two children and a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in mass communications.  Judy and her husband Bob, reside in Worthington, OH.

TOPIC #2: Behavioral Finance: Client Engagement Strategies for Volatile Markets
SPEAKER: Mike Biondo

About the presentation: This presentation will cover discussions to help deepen client relationships, give clients more of a long-term investment mindset, and be less susceptible to emotion-led decisions. You can expect to learn more about historical market insights to provide context in a world of dire predictions and market volatility, investment strategies to help clients reach their holistic financial planning goals, and predictable and consistent client engagement strategies that deepen trust and connections.

About the Speaker: Mike is a Senior Advisor Consultant covering the state of Ohio and an Independent Chanel Player Coach for First Eagle. He joined First Eagle in 2010 as an external wholesaler covering the Pacific Northwest. Mike started his career in 2004 as an internal wholesaler with Lord Abbett covering wirehouses and regional firms. From 2007 to 2010 we was an external with Lord Abbett covering wirehouses and regional firms in Oregon and Alaska. Mike earned his B.S. in Communications and Media Studies from Fordham University in New York City and lives in Cincinnati with his wife and three kids.

Continuing Education: FPA NEO will request credit for these programs, which will total two hours of CE from the CFP® Board of Standards for CFP® designation holders. A general certificate of completion and one for CPA designees who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements will also be available.

Reservation Policy: All attendees are encouraged to register in advance before noon 02/13/24 and walk-in reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis only. In person meeting cost is free for FPA members and $65 for non-members. If you reserve and are unable to attend, please call the office or email admin@fpa-neo.org to cancel by noon 02/13/24 to avoid a no-show reservation billing of $10.00.
