TOPIC #1: Strategies for the Current Tax Landscape
SPEAKER: Dave Vogel

About the presentation: The current tax environment is one of the most unique we have seen in American history. Within recent years there have been numerous legislative packages that have shaped the tax regime we are currently under. The decisions of those preparing for and already in retirement have been impacted in a major way. In this presentation we will discuss both the tax issues to avoid and the opportunities that financial professionals may want to discuss with clients and prospects.

About the Speaker: As a senior advanced markets consultant, Dave Vogel helps educate financial professionals on a variety of topics – including tax-efficient retirement, estate, and business planning strategies. Prior to joining Allianz Life Company of North America in 2013, Vogel was with ING on the Advanced markets team for several years. He also was with several brokerage firms as a producer since 2001. Vogel earned his accounting degree from Saint John’s University in Minnesota. He holds CFP, CLU, and ChFC designations, as well as FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations.

TOPIC #2: Driving Better Portfolio Outcomes with Low-Correlation Strategies
SPEAKER: Kris Jaenicke

About the presentation: This presentation will explore the changing investment landscape and challenges faced by the traditional asset allocation process (“Is long only, 60/40 dead?”). We will also introduce methods for adapting portfolios in the changing world, including “do’s and don’ts” when adding low correlating assets to model portfolios.

About the Speaker: Kris Jaenicke began his career in 1987 with MFS Funds and spent 15 years in the traditional “long-only” mutual fund world. Since 2002 Mr. Jaenicke has represented alternative investments ranging from private equity to hedge fund strategies. Kris is an accomplished speaker and expert on low correlating strategies. He was awarded the Sequoia Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010, an award recognizing field sales professional who have demonstrated a commitment of excellence in their careers. LoCorr Funds is a leading liquid alternative fund company and ranked in the top 10 of all active mutual fund companies for net inflows in 2022.

A general certificate of completion and one for CPA designees who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements will also be available.
